The painting has been restored many times before. The state of the painting was critical. From 2012 until 2016 the artwork has been researched and restored at Lithuanian Art Museum Pranas Gudynas Restoration Center. Genuine painting’s format was reconstructed. Restorers removed overpainted areas and exposed original painting of the 17th century. The artwork was completely preserved and restored by the easel paintings restoration expert Algimantas Vaineikis and highest qualification category easel paintings restorers: Inga Petkutytė and Birutė Miškinienė.
