The baroque style cabinet that became a property of the Estonian Art Museum in 1946 was obviously an item of furnishing in the Premier or President’s residence. A few details were missing and the finishing was badly damaged. The initial looks were restored. After conservation the cabinet dating from the 18th century was displayed in the Estonian Art Museum’s Kadriorg Palace. As our museums do not possess numerous pieces of baroque furniture, the cabinet plays a significant role in the general interior of the palace but also serves as a supporting element at various exhibitions.
